Our Unit has started its activities in 1974. It is one of the first experiences in Italy and worldwide. (Artificial feeding was invented in 1969 by surgeon Mr. S.J. Dudrick). From 1974 to date Prof.Cappello has continued, without interruption, to apply this methodology only on surgical patients at first and then on patients with other conditions. In 1993 Prof. Cappello was the promoter in the regional law of Lazio of Artificial Nutrition at home. Over the past four years, and for the first time in the world, we have used Home Artificial Nutrition (AN) to get a quick weight loss.
